M&S Technologies and Dr. Jack T. Holladay MD, MSEE, FACS, teamed up to produce the Holladay Automated Contrast Sensitivity System, a patented CSF System with rotationally symmetric targets and randomly presented optotypes.

The HACSS provides you with a system that conforms to ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and ISO (International Standards Organization) guidelines and provides a technician-free, fully automated system that can be configured to utilize the full capabilities of the M&S Smart System.

Our Smart System software is custom written by our own software developers with input from leading practitioners. It provides accurate, consistent and reliable performance to help doctors provide exceptional patient care. The robust design allows for easy upgrades for future enhancements and gives the user the flexibility to quickly change the layout of the remote control, key pad or our new wireless tablet to accommodate specific needs.     • Testing for CSF Under Glare Conditions at low, medium or high luminance levels. Can be performed at either mesopic or photopic luminance levels
    • Preferred Optotypes; Rotationally symmetric targets and randomly presented optotypes. Eliminates biases from the patient with non-rotational symmetric optical aberrations such as residual astigmatism, trefoil, coma, etc.
    • ANSI & ISO Guideline Conformance; Conducts contrast sensitivity testing at (1.5, 3, 6, 12 and 18) cycles per degree and at light levels of 85 cd/m2 (photopic) and 3 cd/m2 (mesopic). Plus, includes all of the options and parameters the agencies require for contrast testing
    • Conduct Standard Vision Testing; Integrate with the M&S Smart System comprehensive visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, fixation and video display systems. Approved for clinical trials using the eETDRS and ATS protocols for visual acuity
    • Quick Test Feature that reduces test time on patient return visits by starting at 0.3 log units above previous threshold, minimizing test time to less than 3 minutes per eye
    • Automated-user interactive testing eliminates technician bias or erroneous data
    • Store multiple test results by patient to track changes in CSF function over time; results can be stored locally or transferred to any media storage device
    • Graph, compare and print patent results against normative data
    • Utilizes Smart System integrated database to store and transmit test results within minutes of test completion via internet connections
